About the Author
Ever since I was little, my family placed a huge emphasis on gardening and lawn care. I think it comes from my grandparents, who were farmers. I can’t even count how many Saturday mornings I spent pulling weeds and pruning trees.
Now that I’m a little older and living on my own, I really want to preserve that tradition and eventually pass it on to my kids. However, with the advances in technology, it’s tempting to take the easy way out and employ practices that aren’t as eco-friendly as they maybe could be.
The way I see it, the purpose of gardening and landscaping is to work with nature—not against it. That means that, while a gas-powered riding lawn mower might be easier to manage, if it isn’t the best choice for the earth or the environment, other options should be explored.
That’s largely why I put this site together. I’ve done quite a bit of research on gardening and yard work practices that work as naturally as possible, and I’d like to share what I’ve learned. It doesn’t mean that your landscaping or gardening is going to be easier—in some cases it actually takes a little bit more effort—but it’ll definitely be worth it to have a natural and wholesome garden that didn’t use any gasoline or chemicals to produce.
